"Honesty is the cornerstone of character. The honest man or woman seeks not merely to avoid criminal or illegal acts, but to be scrupulously fair, upright, fearless in both action and expression. Honesty pays dividends both in dollars and in peace of mind."

B.C. Forbes

(A Scottish financial journalist and author who founded Forbes Magazine).

What this quote is trying to say is that you need to always choose the right path. You can either be the hero or the villain. You can either steal or pay. You can either tell the truth or lie. So, you have an option to do good or bad. But this quote refers to honesty. So, you always want to tell the truth. If you on't choose to tell the truth, get ready to suffer even more harsh consequences. So, never lie. But always tell the truth to avoid trouble.

"Stop worrying about whether you're going to win or lose and focus your full attention on what's happening right this moment."

Phil Jackson

11 World championships- Coach

2 World Championships- Player

2 High School Championships- Player

This quote means that you shouldn't just focus upon you winning or losing. What matters is that you should focus on whats happening at this very moment. So, don't mind the score. What matters is what you do about the score. An example would be a basketball game. Your team is down fifteen points and there are less than four minutes until the game is over. Don't think about that defeat just yet and that loss counting against you. Just worry about what you can do. You can send your best players out there and hope they do enough just to barely win the game. Never give up easily and choose the right!

"Truth is the only safe ground to stand upon."

Elizabeth Cady Stanton

What this quote means is that you can only rely on truth, because if you lie you get into more trouble rather than you started off with. So, always remember to choose the right and never lie. If you lie you make matters worse. If you ever feel like you need to lie, DON'T! Always tell the truth. Who cares if you tell the truth  and get into trouble. You need to get the consequence you deserve. And either way if you still lie, you will get even more severe consequences.

"Everyone is the architect of their own learning."

Claudius

What this quote means is that you are in the drivers seat and you make up your own choices. No one else can learn for you, it all depends on yourself! So, if you do bad you cannot blame others for your actions. If you get good grade you still don't blame others for your own actions. You did that yourself, its either you do good or do bad. An example could be a student. This student never does his homework, classwork, or does not do so well on test... His report card comes and it is terrible grades! So, he blames others. He blames his mother, father, brother, sister and so on... This was all his own fault and he needs to take responsibility for his own actions! Choose the right!!!

"Start with what is right rather than what is acceptable."
Peter F. Drucker

What he is trying to say is that you need to be all you can be! You can never choose the right. There are to many evil things out there in the world. never feel pressured to walk away from the situation whether it be embarrassing or not. Stand up for what you believe for and never let others pick on you for that! Mr. Drucker is a good choose the right person judging him by his quote. If you ever want to be a good person you need to see the truth to everything. If you just see the bad, you will most likely be evil. But if you see good, you will be a courageous and responsible respectable person! CTR!!!

"To be great -- concentrate."

Orison Swett Marden

What this quote means is that you need to have dedication and the mentality to accomplish what you want to become. You cannot be doing half of the work all the time, you need to do one hundred percent all the time. So, never take your eye off the ball. You need to perform greatly to be something!

"The man who has no imagination has no wings."

Muhammad Ali

What this quote means is that you need to have dreams. If you don't have and dreams to accomplish  you go no where in life. So, in order to get somewhere in life you have to start somewhere and have to plan it out! If you don't plan ahead of time, everything you thought and dreamed of will most of the time be impossible. So, my word to you is that you start planning ahead of time and by you doing that you will accomplish your dreams. An example would be this famous and extraordinary boxer, Muhammad Ali. He didn't just plan to be a boxer. He had to dream of it as a little kid and start training. You don't just become a famous boxer over night. So Choose the right and plan ahead.

"To see what is right and not to do it is want of courage."

Confucius

What this quote means is that you need to believe in what you stand for, you cannot let others step on you! You need to stand up for your beliefs and and not let others make you change that. You don't need to be a follower, you can be a leader. Who cares if you are a leader of yourself, and have no followers. All you need to be is a very good leader and do the right thing. What I mean by the right thing is have courage, be trustworthy, kind, honest, respectful, and responsible.

"Gold medals don't make champions... hard work does."

ANON

What this quote means is that you just don't get something on your own, you gotta earn it! No one else can put in work for you, it is your responsibility to do your own work to be a successful person. For example, this gold medal idea. It takes lots of training and physical activities to accomplish a gold medal. Only the person who wins the gold medal prepares and trains! So, take this into consideration and remember to try your best and never give up!

"The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character."

Margaret Chase Smith

What this quote means is that you have to stand up for your decisions. You may have to choose and embarrassing choice, but you will not get into trouble. So, never be afraid to stand up for yourself. Always choose the right and fight for your beliefs. It may not be cool to choose the right thing to do, but it brings positives to yourself!!!

"Be quick, but don't get into a hurry."

John Wooden

So, this quote means that you always have to take your time and do it right. You never do the opposite. Which is never to rush and not putting any thought into your work. So, CTR and do it right the first time instead of rushing and repeating the process over and over again!

"When an archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bulls-eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim, improve yourself."

Gilbert Arland

What this quote means is that you quit. Plus, you always can blame others for your own actions. You cannot blame others for doing something bad when you did it. You cannot do that! An example would be a kid stealing a candy bar. He committed his own action. So he cannot blame the clerk, cashier, or store for him stealing, he made his own choice! So, for every action there is a consequence.

"When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to try their hardest to improve on that very day, to make that practice a masterpiece. This rule is even more important in life than basketball. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never make up for a lost day."

John Wooden

What this quote means is that you never quit. Even if you are outnumbered, you still continue and fight for what you stand for. Let no one ever step on you you. Yes you may fall, but remember this: you will always pick yourself up afterwards! So as long as you defend yourself, you should be outstanding. And by doing this you will always choose the right!!!

The Three Don'ts

Don't whine

Don't complain

Don't make excuses

John Wooden

These three quotes mean similarly like the ones yesterday. They also refer to the nevers. So in other words you should not ever do these as well. Never whine. If you always whine people will not like you. Never complain. You should never complain. Most complaining should be about stuff that will help you. Never make excuses! There should never be excuses, not unless it is life threatening! Choose the right!

“Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.”

John Wayne

What this quote means is that in order for you to have courage you need to have to be scared of death. So you need to have both of these to continue your journey. It is impossible to have these and continue your journey to wherever it might be. So we thank John Wayne for his outstanding quote!

"You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience."

Robert E. Lee

What this quote really means is that always have to do right so your conscience can be clear. If you just try to hide the wrong, you will feel guilty. So never do the wrong, but always do the right. If you always do the right you have nothing to worry about, so please take this quote into consideration! An example would be a person going to dental school. He has a huge exam coming up. Now he can either study or not. SO this person makes up a lot of flash cards, now I mean a lot. So he studied single day  And guess what, he passed the exam with a perfect score.
