What this quote means is that you just don't get something on your own, you gotta earn it! No one else can put in work for you, it is your responsibility to do your own work to be a successful person. For example, this gold medal idea. It takes lots of training and physical activities to accomplish a gold medal. Only the person who wins the gold medal prepares and trains! So, take this into consideration and remember to try your best and never give up!
